This is what most people walk into our shop for. We make and program car keys for most makes and models — including transponder (chip) keys and proximity (smart) fobs — and we repair ignitions when the key won't turn or the cylinder is worn. Right here on S. Western Ave. No tow to the dealer, no week-long wait. Bring it in, or for lockouts and ignition jobs, we come to you anywhere in the OKC metro.

OKC

Why this matters in Oklahoma City

OKC dealers commonly quote $300–$700 for a single smart-key fob — plus a tow, plus a multi-day wait. National "$15 car key" ad scams flip the other way: a low online price that becomes 5–10× more on arrival. Most OKC drivers don't need either. A licensed local locksmith with the right equipment can usually program your key the same day for far less, with the price fixed in writing before work begins.

What we do

Car key replacement — even without the original

Lost every key? We generate, cut, and program a new key to your vehicle using your VIN and proof of ownership. No tow to the dealer required.

Key fobs & remotes

Remote not working, water-damaged, or lost? We supply and program key fobs and remotes for most makes — often hundreds less than the dealer quote.

Transponder / chip keys

Modern keys carry a chip that must be programmed to the vehicle to start it. We have the equipment to cut and program transponder keys in-store.

Key fob programming — including fobs you bought online

Bought a fob on Amazon or eBay? Bring it in. If it's compatible with your vehicle, we program it. If it's the wrong part, we tell you before you waste money.

Ignition repair & cylinder replacement

Key won't turn, turns hard, or gets stuck? We diagnose, repair, and replace ignition cylinders — and re-key the new cylinder to your existing key so you don't end up with two keys.

Broken key extraction

Key snapped off in the ignition or door lock? We extract the broken half non-destructively and cut you a fresh key on the spot.

Frequently asked questions

Can you make a car key without the original?

Yes. Even if every key is lost, we can generate, cut, and program a new key to your vehicle using your VIN, your proof of ownership (registration or title), and our key equipment. No original key required, no tow to the dealer.

Is a locksmith cheaper than the dealership for a key fob?

Almost always, yes. OKC dealers commonly quote $300–$700 for smart fobs, plus a tow and an appointment. We carry fobs and program them in-store — frequently for $200–$400 less, same day. Call with your year/make/model and we'll give you a real quote.

Do you program key fobs I bought online?

Often yes, if it's the correct fob for your vehicle. Bring it in — if it's compatible, we program it on the spot. If it's the wrong part (a very common Amazon problem), we'll tell you before you spend on programming, and we can usually supply the right one.

My ignition won't turn — is that the key, or the ignition?

Often it's a worn ignition cylinder rather than the key. A worn key + worn cylinder is the classic combo: the key turns in one but not the other. We diagnose both — and when we replace an ignition cylinder, we re-key the new one to your existing key so you don't end up juggling two keys.

My key broke off in the ignition. Can you fix that?

Yes. We extract the broken half non-destructively, then either cut a fresh key (if the cylinder is OK) or recommend a cylinder replacement if the cylinder is the underlying problem. We always quote both options before doing anything.

Do I need to bring proof of ownership?

For a new car key — yes. Photo ID plus current registration or title in your name. This protects you from key-cloning fraud and is standard practice. For a duplicate when you have a working key, just bring the key.

How long does a transponder key take to program?

For most vehicles, programming is 15–45 minutes from when we have the key cut. Some European and luxury vehicles require longer or a specific procedure — we tell you on the phone before you come in.

Do you make keys for European cars (BMW, Mercedes, Audi)?

For many models, yes. European systems are more variable — we ask for the exact year/make/model on the phone first so we can confirm we have the right equipment and quote a real price before you make the trip.
